Mitsubishi Key Programming with FVDI2 SKP900 Lonsdor K518ISE

Mitsubishi key programming tutorial…Here you go.

Tips here including:

Part 1: How to do Mitsubishi key programming?

Part 2: How to choose a good Mitsubishi key programmer

option 1: FVDI2 Mitsubishi

option 2: SuperOBD SKP-900 Key Programmer

option 3: Lonsdor K518ISE

Part 3: Conclusion

Part 1: How to do Mitsubishi key programming?

Here,take 2014 Mitsubishi.

To program a spare key to your 2014 Mitsubishi, you need two keys that are already programmed and working on the vehicle. If you only have one operational key, your replacement key will require programming from your local dealer or a locksmith with the correct equipment (Part 2 will help choose a working Mitsubishi key programmer). This procedure should also work for many other Mitsubishi models.

Standard Key (Non-Push-to-Start Models)

step 1:
Enter the vehicle and shut the door. Insert the first working key into the ignition and turn it to the “On” position. Wait five seconds, then turn the ignition off and remove the key.

step 2:
Insert the second working key within 20 seconds of removing the first, then turn it to the “On” position. Observe the immobilizer light on the instrument cluster, and shut off the ignition when the light begins to blink.

step 3:
Insert the new key to be programmed into the ignition within 20 seconds and turn it to the “On” position. Observe the immobilizer light. Turn the ignition off when the light illuminates solid for 30 seconds then turns off. Test operation of the key. Repeat this procedure for any additional spare keys you would like to program.

F.A.S.T. Key Programming

step 1:

Sit in the vehicle with both valid F.A.S.T keys and the key you wish to program. Press the push-to-start button to turn the system on, but don’t start the engine.

step 2:

Press the unlock button on the first working F.A.S.T key and hold it. After four seconds, press and hold the lock button while holding the unlock button. Within 10 seconds of pressing the lock button, release it, then release the unlock button. Repeat this step within 30 seconds with the second working F.A.S.T key.

step 3:

Observe the immobilizer light on the instrument cluster. It will blink, then turn solid for 30 seconds. Your new key is programmed when you see the immobilizer light turn off and you hear a buzzer sound for three seconds. Repeat this section for any other F.A.S.T. keys you wish to program.

Part 2: How to choose a good Mitsubishi key programmer

option 1: FVDI2 Mitsubishi

20-01

The key programming function currently works by CAN. Please, see below the supported vehicles. In the next versions we will add more vehicles to this list FREE for all customers who own the key learning function. We also plan to support vehicles with KLine interface.

Keys can be programmed when the pin code of the vehicle is known. The Mitsubishi Commander has a database of default pin codes. The pin code can be changed with the Mitsubishi Commander. If the pin code is changed – next time when a key is programmed the new pin code should be entered.

20-02

FVDI2 key programmer now works on Mitsubishi by CAN only. But more vehicles will be added/updated to this list and it’s FREE for all customers who own the key learning function.

Part 3: Conculsion

In summary, Mitsubishi key programming can be done with all key tools above.

But how to choos the one you need indeed?

Here are some tips for- better read it before you decide to have a Mitsubishi key programmer.

Have a FVDI2 ABRITES Commander for Mistubishi if you have Mitsubishi only. FVDI2 is able to not only add new keys but also help diagnostic tests. Good for DIYers.

Have a SuperOBD SKP900 or Lonsdor K518ISE if you are a locksmith or have many cars need program new keys. SKP900 is popular and receive good feedback.People with it never upset themselves. But, SuperOBD is gonna stop SK900 production so it’s not good for future cars. The last, Lonsdor K518ise wins. It’s a professional universal key programming in the the year 2017 and 2018.

3 Xhorse VVDI2 BMW FEM/BDC coding/programming

BMW FEM/BDC Coding/Programming with VVDI2 full kit 4.3.0 above

14-23

step 1:
1.read FEM/BDC coding via OBDII or on the bench
2.you’d better not close this window after starting this procedure

step 2:
1.open FEM/BDC shell, find out where the 95128/95256 chip is, read EEPROM dump via BDM programmer
2.load original EEPROM dump and save special EEPROM dump, write special EEPROM dump back to the 95128/95256 chip
3.restore FEM/BDC shell, provide -12v and connect it via OBD

step 3:
1.this operation requires connecting FEM/BDC on the bench, and make sure you finish step 1 ans step 2
2.provide +12v to FEM.BDC and connect it via OBD

step 4:
1.open FEM/BDC shell, write original EEPROM dump (read step 2) back to the 95128/95256 chip
2.restore FEM/BDC shell and connect it via OBD

step 5:
loading coding file (read step 1), write to FEM/BDC via OBDII, finish FEM/BDC programming

Attention please!!!

– You can directly backup/restore coding

– You have to pre-setup the FEM/BDC module before deleting/adding keys or resetting keys

– You’ll be told other tools need to be used first to program the FEM/BDC system, then setup FEM/BDC via VVDI2. It happens when you do FEM/BDC key learning, and you don’t have a working software version

– You’d better not close the VVDI2 interface when you pre-setup FEM/BDC

– You need do with 95128(FEM) or 95256(BDC) chip when pre-setup FEM/BDC

Note: there are two 8-pin chips; do not disassemble the wrong chip; better refer to the wiring diagram

– You must restore original EEPROM data, restore coding when pre-setup FEM/BDC. If you fail to restore coding or the remote cannot start or something wrong with the window (or other failures probably) after coding restore and FEM/BDC installation, please use other tools to do re-coding FEM/BDC

– Ask tech support obd2tool.com for help, if the replay sounds continuously after supplying power to the FEM/BDC. Usually, it needs programming.

Which one is better Lonsdor k518ISE or obdstar X300 DP (key master DP)?

Today we share the difference between Lonsdor K518ISE and OBDSTAR X300 DP (key master DP)

vehicle coverage

obdstar X300 DP (key master DP) feedback: I have the Key Master and its Ok works 50% of the time and the rest it fails to communicate.

Lonsdor K518ISE Key programmer vehicle coverage has no feedback yet, this one looks interesting but only time will tell. From what you’ve read, you will find this Lonsdor k518ISE is a little better than AVDI for a lot less the money. It is also twice the money of OBDStar X300 DP and Xtool tablets.

It claims to work on Volvo, LR, BMW FEM and CAS4, VAG IMMO5, etc…

There are some videos on the most used European cars from Ford, PSA, Fiat, Opel, VAG, Renault…as well as American cars, Asian cars etc, judging from CI600 reputation K518ISE should work.

Lonsdor K518ISE video channel:

http://www.obd2tool.com/goods-6954-Lonsdor+K518ISE+Key+Programmer.html

Price

obdstar X300 DP (key master DP) price: more than $800 and less than $900 (google search you will find)

Lonsdor K518ISE Key programmer price: about $1200 for the first batch of 500pcs.

Conclusion:

So if you want to cover more cars you should choose  k518ise.

OBDStar doesn’t seem to offer an adequate alternative for the Android tablet products.
