How To Do Offline SCN Coding By MB SD C4 And DAS?

Yesterday one of obd2tool.co.uk customer from Netherlands ask us : How  can I Offline SCN Coding By MB SD C4 And DAS?  Obd2tool.co.uk engineer give him a detail instructions, let’s see together :

Requirement for offline SCN coding:
–STAR DIAGNOSIS (MB SD CONNECT COMPACT 4 is the most reputable in the market now) diagnosis system with printer
–Fax

This is the detailed instructions to display offline SCN coding via Star diagnostic software Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS).

Steps for offline SCN coding:
A) Determine vehicle data for offline SCN coding from the vehicle.
1 Select control unit in DAS.
2 Select menu item “control unit adaptations” or “initial startup”.
Continue with “F3″.
3 Select menu item “SCN coding”. Continue with “F3″.
4 Select “Offline (STAR DIAGNOSIS device not-networked)” menu item. Continue with “F3″.
5 Confirm note on sequence of SCN coding with “F2″.
6 Completely fill out fax form and click “F11″ to print out.
Please Kindly Notice:If an email address is entered in the fax form, you will be sent the SCN coding data per email. If a fax number is entered in the fax form, you will be sent the SCN coding data per fax.
7 Send printed out fax form to the given fax no. for the Star Diagnosis Help Desk.

B) Perform SCN coding. The coding is performed with the SCN coding data from the Star Diagnosis Help Desk.
Please Kindly Notice: If the SCN coding data are received per email, burn the data to a CD or save the data on a USB removable storage device and identify accordingly. Unpack the Zip files first when doing so.
8 In the DAS, choose the “Step 2: Perform SCN coding” menu item. Continue with “F3″.
9.1 Select keyboard input using “F4″.
For SCN coding data per fax.
9.2 Insert CD or connect USB removable storage device.
For SCN coding data per email.
10.1 Enter SCN coding data manually into the DAS.
For SCN coding data per fax.
10.2 Confirm using “F3″ and import the data per CD or USB removable storage device.
For SCN coding data per email.
11 Perform SCN coding.
12 Switch ignition on/off.
Control unit specific, refer to specification in DAS.
13 Press “F11″ to print out the order log and enclose the repair order.
Please Kindly Notice: The order log can also be stored on the DAS. This is done by clicking on “F11″, “Print to file”, selecting “printout of test step” and entering a file name. In StarUtilities, the StarPad program can be used to display and printout the order log at the “Logs” menu item.
14 Continue with “F2″.
Please Kindly Notice: The SCN coding of the control unit is completed. Scrap the CD following successful SCN coding as per the guidelines for theft-relevant parts (DTR 69/00). The scrapping process is to be documented on the repair order. The data on the USB removable storage device are to be deleted properly once they have been used.

Free download and set up JLR mangoose SDD V142 software

The new version SDD JLR V142 mangoose Pro software for Win 7 has been released recently and can be downloaded free from the link below: http://diagnosticdelivery.jlrext.com/idscentral.

This V142 JLR SDD is a test version, and requires to install the frozen software after V142 SDD installation. Here is a guide on installing the V142 SDD software: IDS SDD JLR V139 free software and setup instructions.
When you finish installing the downloaded V142 mangoose SDD, you will find that the system will display notice message in red on the top of the program:

“The new V142 JLR SDD will prompt a Working offline; Limited Access Expire Thursday, June 26, 2015 at 6:14 PM”

This is the test version software, please finish setup and test during the prompted date and time. And froze the computer using the frozen software for CD, then test car in the near feature will not be influenced.

Here are instructions to freeze the computer time and using the frozen software.

1. Software installation must be within one day (for example June 26, 2015)
2. After install the software, install the SDD driver (old V139 SDD driver), test if it is OK
3. The frozen software must be installed at the same day (June 26, 2015)
4. If the software cannot be used next day (June 27, 2015), change the computer time/date you install the software (June 26, 2015).

How to freeze the computer and use the frozen software for CD?

Open My Computer
Open JLR mangoose 142 DVD
Open “DFStd KEY” notepad
Copy the DFStd key

Open “DFStd” file on DVD
Paste the DFStd license key to “License Key” column, click “Next”

Select Disk C:// only in “Froze Drivers Configuration” windows, click “Next”

Click “Install” to install the frozen software
Restart the computer if the installation is completed.

MB SD C4 How To Set LAN and WIFI on VMware

MB SD Connect C4 DAS and Xentry are possible to work on VMware system. VMware system for MB SD C4 system can boot this VM from ANY Laptop or PC, and DOES NOT takes role if the Host Machine using WinXP or W7 operating system.

If you install the SD connect net control and can not see C4 MUX, it is because of the VMware WIFI setting are changed, so verify that and fix it.

1) Connect MB SD Connect C4 with LAN cable
2) Open Virtual Network Editor and use vmnet0 (Auto-Bridging )
3) Install (2 ) Local Area Connection
4) Set IP:
